Kirsten leads our technology and communications practices and brings a range of experience across services and sectors. With a background helping innovators, early stage companies, investors and corporations introduce new technologies to the world, she develops and communicates important narratives about the technology categories shaping our future.
Known for providing strategic business and marketing communications consultation that achieves market results for her clients, Kirsten drives media and visibility to companies, incubators, accelerators and investors working in health tech, biotech and life sciences, energy, clean tech, sustainability and resiliency, smart cities, IoT and connectivity, VR/AR and media, AI/ML, telecommunications and applications based on how networks are evolving and how data is used. She specializes in using targeted messaging and top-tier media coverage to build movements and create new market categories.
Prior to Waxman Strategies, Kirsten led the Venture Capital and Emerging Technologies practices at Spark and headed Consumer Technology accounts at Fleishman-Hillard International Communications. As a member of the executive leadership team within Sony Corporation of America, Kirsten managed cross-brand PR and marketing for the Sony family of brands.
Kirsten has amplified stories about technology in the public interest for over a decade, managed crisis communications and served as spokesperson for global corporations, and deployed public relations programs for startups, investors, foundations, NGOs and nonprofits. She got her start as an environmental journalist, broadcast producer and technical director for Ziff Davis and has a B.A. in Mass Media from the University of San Francisco.
