Waxman Strategies hires policy pro adding to the firm’s expertise on health equity and drug pricing

We are thrilled to share that Kate Meyer is joining our firm as Director of Health Policy. Kate brings a decade of experience working in health policy and strategic communications to our Health Policy practice. Kate will play a critical, leading role in our work on drug pricing, health coverage, and health equity with clients such as Arnold Ventures, West Health, and United States of Care.

Prior to joining Waxman, Kate served as Interim Executive Director for Girls Gotta Run Foundation – an organization that invests in girls who use running and education to empower themselves and their communities in Ethiopia. She also served on the organization’s board before taking on the role of Interim Executive Director.

She earned a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in addition to her Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College. Much of Kate’s career has been focused on health policy issues including health equity, reproductive health access, and prescription drug coverage. Kate has held a number of positions in the public affairs space working at organizations such as the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, the EMAA Project, Council for Affordable Quality Health Care, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, EMILY’s List, Bipartisan Policy Center, and the Brookings Institution.
