Anna Britt

Senior Associate

Prior to joining Waxman Strategies as an Associate on the Health team, Anna worked on three local campaigns in Virginia, where she was a part of a dynamic campus team that was acknowledged to be a vital part of the progressive candidate winning the seat from an incumbent in a conservative district. As a graduate student, she interned for a progressive political communications firm in DC, where she worked with healthcare clients, specifically focusing on health equity issues related to Medicare prescription coverage and social determinants of health. As a Public Relations Associate at a DC-based strategic communications/public relations firm, she worked on a client team advancing women’s health research initiatives and funding. Her areas of policy interest include health equity, access to reproductive health care, and gun control.

Anna earned her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and her Masters of Political Communication at American University in Washington, DC. During her time at Virginia Tech, she led a student organization that mentored middle school girls on topics around mental health and feminism. As a graduate student at American University, Anna worked as a Research Assistant focusing on youth voting behavior and social media trends around the 2020 presidential election. In her free time, Anna enjoys trying out new recipes and spending time in the gym.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

  • Worked on several health equity client teams, including health equity initiatives, women’s health research equity, focusing on the social determinants of health

  • Served as a campus organizer on a campaign team that helped turn out as high as a 78% higher rate of student turnout across targeted student precincts compared to the last legislative only year in Virginia

  • Conducted research on youth voting behavior and social media activity relating to the 2020 presidential election
