Adam Fischer
Vice President
Adam Fischer is a Vice President in the Environmental Policy Practice at Waxman Strategies, where he works with clients on a broad range of climate and clean energy issues.
Adam has dedicated his career to climate action. Before joining Waxman, he worked for the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where he covered a wide range of climate, energy, and environmental policy issues—from climate finance and clean energy supply chains to clean transportation and the circular economy.
Adam played a central role in developing key provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act, including the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund and other decarbonization programs. While on Energy and Commerce, he also helped develop the Climate Leadership and Environmental Action for our Nation’s (CLEAN) Future Act, the first comprehensive climate bill introduced in the House in more than a decade. Throughout his time in the House, Adam worked closely with Member offices and the broader stakeholder community to develop and advance bold, inclusive climate solutions.
At Waxman, Adam works with clients to advocate for, implement, and defend policy priorities across sectors and issue areas, including climate finance, building decarbonization, industrial competitiveness, and more.
Earlier in his career, Adam worked at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he supported the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and worked with project teams to commercialize high-risk, high-reward clean energy technologies. He also held positions with the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, and the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
Adam holds dual master’s degrees in Environmental Management and Public Policy from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Tufts University. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his dog, Buster.
