Nate Hitchings

Nate Hitchings serves as a Director at Waxman Strategies, managing political communications workstreams across a wide variety of public affairs client accounts and progressive issue advocacy campaigns. As a member of the firm’s Technology Practice, Nate also provides unique sector expertise and government relations support for deep-tech, artificial intelligence, robotics and cybersecurity innovators.

Prior to joining Waxman, Nate served as a Consultant within FTI Consulting’s Public Affairs and Government Relations practice in Washington, where he engaged in complex policy analysis and crisis communications outreach on behalf of technology and telecommunications clients facing high-profile, cybersecurity-related reputational issues. As a member of FTI’s Global Risk and Investigations team, Nate has also supported several leading social media and e-commerce companies with litigation research and messaging development.

Before FTI, Nate had the opportunity to gain government relations and issue advocacy experience interning for various prominent Democratic public officials and partisan organizations, including time spent within Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s national press office and at the public affairs firms SKDKnickerbocker, Forbes Tate Partners, and FleishmanHillard.

Originally from Massachusetts, Nate holds a master’s degree in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland College Park with a bachelor’s degree in Government and Politics.
