Kashif Syed, J.D., brings a substantial record of high-quality health policy research, analysis, and advocacy to Waxman Strategies.
Before joining the health team, Kashif was a senior member of the policy team at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). There, he spearheaded work on a variety of health equity and public health policy issues, including family planning, HIV and STD prevention, immigrant health, and more. He also played a significant role advising and providing technical counsel to PPFA senior leadership, its litigation team, and its affiliates across the country on complex regulatory issues.
Before PPFA, Kashif was awarded the “If/When/How” fellowship—a policy-focused fellowship for attorneys designed to create entry points into the reproductive health, rights, and justice fields. He spent his fellowship year at Advocates For Youth in Washington, D.C., advocating for young people’s access to health care and comprehensive sex education.
Kashif received his B.A. from Michigan State University and holds a J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
