Asha is the Director of Waxman Strategies’ Rapid Response program, which uses satellite and supply chain data to hold agribusinesses accountable for deforestation and human rights violations in their supply chains. She has extensive experience leveraging data and science to create innovative solutions and campaigns in the environmental and agricultural fields.
Prior to joining Waxman Strategies, she worked for the Union of Concerned Scientists conducting research and designing campaigns to compel Fortune 500 companies to adopt deforestation-free commitments. Her publications made national headlines, earning coverage in Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian. The work of her team and coalition partners resulted in dozens of corporations committing to deforestation-free supply chains.
She received an M.S. in international agricultural development at UC Davis where she researched the profitability and sustainability of international commodity farming systems.
