Waxman Strategies Welcomes New Senior Director Katie Berge To The Firm’s Health Policy Team

January 25, 2023

Waxman Strategies is thrilled to share that Katie Berge is joining our firm as Senior Director of Health Policy. With over 10 years of experience in the government and non-profit sectors, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our Health Policy practice.

Prior to joining Waxman Strategies, Berge worked for a range of organizations, including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the American Heart Association, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the United States Senate.

“Katie is an accomplished addition to the team. She will add to our political and advocacy strategy and expand our relationships with key policymakers in DC,” says Managing Director, Jeremy Sharp.

Throughout her career, Berge has been a leader in the patient community and has worked on a range of health policy issues, including the development and implementation of the No Surprises Act, the regulation of junk insurance, clinical trial diversity, substance use disorder treatment and management, and employer-sponsored insurance issues.

Berge holds a master’s degree from University College London in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics of Health, as well as undergraduate degrees in Biology and World Religions, and a minor in Biochemistry.

We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the contributions she will make to Waxman.
