Waxman Strategies is pleased to announce the addition of Department of Health and Human Services veterans Bill Corr and Kristi Martin.
“Bill’s one of the most well-respected and experienced health policy advocates in the country. His track record of crafting, passing and implementing some of our nation’s most impactful health care legislation and regulations makes him an invaluable asset to our team,” stated Rep. Henry Waxman, chairman of Waxman. “I know Bill and Kristi are joining the firm because they are committed, like us, to quality, affordable and accessible health care for all.”
Bill Corr brings decades of experience, having served as Executive Director of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, Chief Counsel and Policy Director for U.S. Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, Chief of Staff at HHS under Secretary Donna E. Shalala, and most recently Deputy Secretary of HHS.
Kristi Martin is leaving her post as Senior Advisor in the Office of Health Reform at HHS to serve as Vice President at Waxman. Already, she is hard at work expanding and strengthening the health care practice. While at HHS, Kristi was responsible for the public health and prevention policy portfolio of the Affordable Care Act, along with supporting interdepartmental initiatives like the rising cost of drugs and women’s health.
